Consulting Engineer

Location: Boston, MA/Seattle, WA

Description:

Teranode's consulting services team works closely with our customers to develop highly integrated and automated solutions for complex experiment design, execution and analysis problems. As a member of this team, you will interact independently with the client on requirement definition, solution design, infrastructure analysis and acceptance testing. Success requires strong interpersonal communication, scientific domain knowledge and software engineering skills. Leveraging your field experience, you will have a significant impact on future product plans by working closely with our product developers.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership on Teranode or client teams to build application solutions
  • Design, develop and deploy solutions using our experiment design automation (XDA) platform
  • Perform business analysis & requirements gathering
  • Generate project plans, design specifications, test plans, cost estimates, etc.
  • Participate in solution customizations & technical implementations
  • Test custom development using standard techniques and practices
  • Document custom-developed code, installation and end-user instructions
  • Communicate status of assignments accurately to project management
  • Develop strong working relationships with partner, client and Teranode team members
  • Manage on-time delivery of custom solutions to Teranode clients
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
  • Consulting experience preferred
  • Experience developing web applications w/ MVC frameworks (Spring, Struts)
  • Thorough understanding of Java required
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems preferred
  • Knowledge of Oracle databases desired
  • Knowledge of development methodologies and web architectures
  • Experience with formal structured design, development and testing techniques
  • Self motivating and able to work independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel
