Technical Sales and Product Manager
Location: Seattle, WA
Description:
As a member of Teranode’s business group, the Technical Sales and Product Manager is involved with all aspects to ensure that the company revenue goals are achieved. This person will be responsible for technical business development and software product management. The candidate must be proficient at explaining state-of-the-art software concepts to scientists, and extremely comfortable discussing IT platform requirements and specific software technology with IT specialists across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, agriculture industries, and including software platform and services partners.
Responsibilities
- Market analysis and software requirements definition

- Software collateral preparation

- Lead generation and business development presentations to potential customers

- Manage high-touch engagements with A-list life sciences customers, their senior research management, and senior IT architects

- Translation of field business development requirements into an ever-evolving product development roadmap
Qualifications
- Knowledge of life sciences drug discovery research processes and the software platforms and tools used in that research is essential

- Conceptual familiarity with a variety of technologies as typically used by large Fortune 500 companies including relational database systems, enterprise security, document management, and team collaboration offerings from vendors like Oracle, Microsoft, and Documentum is required. Familiarity with semantic web technologies is preferred

- A track record of successful engagement with technology partnerships, and with business development contracts ranging from $250k to $2M+ is essential

- Ability to present in situations where multiple sponsors and supporters must sign off on any agreement (e.g., senior research managers, senior IT technical staff and management)

- Experience presenting software concepts to domain specialists is highly desirable

- Enthusiasm for a small-company, startup environment and the special challenges associated with that is mandatory

Consulting Engineer
Location: Boston, MA/Seattle, WA
Description:
Teranode's consulting services team works closely with our customers to develop highly integrated and automated solutions for complex experiment design, execution and analysis problems. As a member of this team, you will interact independently with the client on requirement definition, solution design, infrastructure analysis and acceptance testing. Success requires strong interpersonal communication, scientific domain knowledge and software engineering skills. Leveraging your field experience, you will have a significant impact on future product plans by working closely with our product developers.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership on Teranode or client teams to build application solutions

- Design, develop and deploy solutions using our experiment design automation (XDA) platform

- Perform business analysis & requirements gathering

- Generate project plans, design specifications, test plans, cost estimates, etc.

- Participate in solution customizations & technical implementations

- Test custom development using standard techniques and practices

- Document custom-developed code, installation and end-user instructions

- Communicate status of assignments accurately to project management

- Develop strong working relationships with partner, client and Teranode team members

- Manage on-time delivery of custom solutions to Teranode clients

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science

- Consulting experience preferred

- Experience developing web applications w/ MVC frameworks (Spring, Struts)

- Thorough understanding of Java required

- Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems preferred

- Knowledge of Oracle databases desired

- Knowledge of development methodologies and web architectures

- Experience with formal structured design, development and testing techniques

- Self motivating and able to work independently

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Willingness to travel
