The TERANODE Design Suite was brought in to provide computational biologists a platform that integrates graphical modeling, mathematical modeling, and biological simulation. It allows experimental scientists to communicate easily with modeling experts by directly annotating the working models with their observations and data. Models created using the Biological Modeler are now archived and shared across the collaborating groups, through the use of the TERANODE Model Server. The TERANODE Model Server allows organized check-in/check-out for model building and re-use.
Utilizing TERANODE Design Suite as a design automation platform for both the research and IT teams has delivered a standard interface to model and simulate biological systems. The biological modeling and simulation solution consists of the TERANODE Design Suite and the TERANODE Model Server running on an Oracle 9i Server. Training and deployment times of the TERANODE solution took less than a week. Computational biologists were trained on the TERANODE Design Suite use at the basic level in under 4 hours. Advanced modeling and simulation by professional users required an additional 8 hours. Database support by IT professionals required less than 4 hours. RESULTS
